Milano Workshop

The objectives of the workshop entitled "Lessons from Host-Pathogens Interactions" were to bring forth an up-to-date overview on both pathogens-host interactions and the use of cellular mecanims by microorganisms, and to identify similarities and differences between these mecanisms for both pathogens and commensal bacteria.

For this occasion were gathered Cross-Talk fellows, their supervisors, researchers, industrials and ten young researchers to whom were awarded  fellowships to attend the meeting.

We had the pleasure to welcome:

  • Philippe SANSONETTI, Pasteur Institute, Paris, France
  • Arlette DARFEUILLE-MICHAUD, University of Clermont-Ferrand, France
  • Christoph TANG, Imperial College London, United Kingdom
  • François LEULIER, IBDML, Marseille, France
  • Thomas HENRY, INSERM, Lyon, France
  • Jerry WELLS, Wageningen University, The Netherlands
  • Luigina ROMANI, University of Perugia, Italy
  • Stéphane MERESSE, CIML, Marseille, France
  • Thierry SOLDATI, University of Geneva, Switzerland
  • Pietro MASTROENI, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom

The format of this workshop, with a limited number of participants, facilitates meeting between young scientists and the speakers, including a series of appointment organized within the workshop schedule.

During those two days, talks of speakers were alternated with talks of young researchers, this was also the occasion to participate to posters sessions and the possibility to have lunchs between fellows and researchers.

The best short oral presentation  and the best poster have been awarded to Mariangela Cavarelli and to Krzysztof Regulski by our partner LABIP represented by Aat Ledeboer.
